The brake piston can be easily returned by simply squeezing the lever. The handle rotates, allowing you to work in a variety of positions. It can also be easily removed from the caliper with one hand. The parallel movement allows the piston to be pushed straight back without damaging it.
A special tool for pushing back the brake caliper piston (single piston type) when replacing disc brake pads or overhauling the brakes.
